Administrative advice and legal aid for artists

• Matthew Hinsley, executive director of the Austin Classical Guitar Society, will read from his new book, Creativity to Community: Arts Nonprofit Success One Coffee at a Time, Sunday, March 27, 7pm, at BookPeople, 603 N. Lamar. I don't know when the perpetually busy Dr. Hinsley found time to pen such a comprehensive nuts-and-bolts guide, but he did, and any artists, administrators, or board members interested in building their arts organizations will find value in his eminently sensible advice.

• UT Law Students for the Arts will host a clinic offering free legal advice to artists Thursday, March 31, 6-8:30pm, at the offices of Fulbright & Jaworski, 600 Congress #2400. Local attorneys, with assistance from University of Texas law students, will provide 30-minute consultations for any artists with legal questions, though artists must register in advance.
