Salvage Vanguard scores a prestigious R&D grant, and Jenny Hart goes Gallic
• Jenny Hart has gone, how you say, Gallic. The Austin seamstress fantastique has embroidered works in deux exhibitions of contemporary needlework in France this month: the group show "Fils Croisés" (Crossed Threads)" at the Galerie L.J. in Paris and the museum show "Sur le Fil – Deviant Textiles," which is launching a yearlong tour at the Maison Folie de Wazemmes in Lille. For more information, visit www.jennyhart.net. Hart's next stateside exhibition is a group show of embroidery art that she's curated titled "Over and Under," which runs Nov. 6-Dec. 6 at Yard Dog, 1510 S. Congress.
